Women in construction join NAWIC for many reasons. For some, it's to be part of a network of like-minded women facing the challenges and the opportunities of a career in the construction industry. For others, it's a chance to learn more about technical or leadership skills.
NAWIC Orange County is committed to supporting our members and our community. We have a fun and informative general meeting each month focused on building skills and connecting with our members. It is a great chance to network with others in the industry.
We are also active in our community. Each March, during Women in Construction (WIC) Week, we join with others in Southern California to celebrate, highlight and promote the role of women in the construction industry. We also support organizations like the Thomas House Family Shelter to renovate housing for Orange County families in need. Finally, we offer programs like Camp NAWIC, our girls-only introduction to construction camp, which allows us to educate high school girls about the opportunities in construction.
